

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! The American Cancer Society is celebrating 25 years of awareness, education, and empowerment.
According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), an estimated 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed among women in the United States this year. An estimated 40,170 women are expected to die from the disease in 2009 alone. Today, there are about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States. Get involved in some of the many events going on to help show support. There are several fundraiser walks or free seminars. Salons throughout the city have special cut-a-thons for hair donations. Breast Cancer awareness shirts and accessories are being sold at stores everywhere so that you can rock PINK and help save the ta-tas! And if nothing else wear a pink ribbon to show you care.
